EGLS Meeting Award for Graduate Student Talk

The EGLS Meeting award for Graduate Student Talk is given to graduate research oral presenters. One student is considered for the award during the contributed oral sessions at each of the Spring and Fall meetings. In addition to a section commendation the award carries a cash prize.

Due to an oversight at the conference, I was listed as a graduate student. Even then, to my amazement my presentation received the highest votes!

Sigma Pi Sigma, Physics and Astronomy Honor Society

Sigma Pi Sigma exists to honor outstanding scholarship in physics and astronomy, to encourage interest in physics and astronomy among students at all levels, to promote an attitude of service, and to provide a fellowship of persons who have excelled in physics and astronomy. Founded in 1921, Sigma Pi Sigma is a member honor society of the Association of College Honor Societies. Election to Sigma Pi Sigma is a lifetime membership.

Pi Mu Epsilon, Mathematics Honor Society

Pi Mu Epsilon is dedicated to the promotion of mathematics and recognition of students who successfully pursue mathematical understanding.

Muller Award

The Muller award began in 2000 from a generous donation by Robert and Elizabeth Muller, recognizing a student that shows promise in physics early on in their education.

Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society

Phi Eta Sigma recognizes first-year students who either achieve a GPA of at least 3.50 or who are ranked in the upper 20 percent of their class.
